Surface freezing before local anaesthetic is injected, makes the removal of an ingrowing toenail virtually painless.

Postoperative pain is very low because the nerve endings are chemically cauterised.

Little chance of the nail regrowing, as phenol removes the nail root.
A few hours with the foot up to stop bleeding, and then the next day, as long as you can wear open shoes you can go back to work.

Redressing after 5 days then as long as you bath it regularly in salt water you can dress it yourself.

You should be able to get a shoe back on in a week to 10 days.
